Cogent Certified to ISO14001
Contract Electronics Manufacturer, Cogent Technology Ltd, is proud to announce that its Environmental Management System has been certified to the ISO14001:2004 standard.
Cogent decided to engage with the standard not only to meet the demands of customers but because many of the practices followed throughout the plant had already evolved with environmental considerations in mind.
"Acquiring certification turned out to be an enlightening process and involved the whole company with all the staff being trained on the requirements of the standard, what they mean to the business and individuals within it", stated Michael Charlesworth, Engineering & Quality Manager.
Managing Director, Nigel Slator is keen to praise his staff "In a relatively short time span we achieved a lot and that's due in no small part to the intensive effort of the team".
Cogent had already commissioned numerous projects around the facility to conserve energy consumed by plant and added an extremely efficient evaporative cooling system for the shop floor this summer.
"Now the work really begins" stated Jon Kenny, who played a key role in creating the Environmental Management System "we have a raft of ideas for improving our environmental performance which in turn will maintain our competitiveness".
